In next 1-2 weeks there will be a big change in GoofyxGrid@home because of merging with GCC (Grid Computing Center).
GoofyxGrid@home will finish acctual existens and will appear as sub-project in GCC.

More info soon...

A Google search reveals many Grid Computing Centers. I guess the primary question which you can answer is: will GoofyxGrid become non-BOINC?

Since I never heard about this GCC thing, I'm still thinking that's not a wise move for the project :(

GoofyxGrid@home will finish actual existence and will appear as sub-project in GCC.

What are the other projects? Let me guess, all projects run by/through BOINC@Poland:
Enigma@Home (problems at the moment, no WUs being sent to client)
Radioactive@Home (problems at the moment, validator down)
Universe@Home (recently changed to new code)

Aren't you biting off more than you can chew?

There are s few BOINC "grid" projects that run multiple things. Perhaps it is one of those or maybe it is a new one that isn't fully public yet?

EDIT: I think I found it.

The site states that it is based on the BOINC platform, so it should be BOINC based in that case.

I am full understand your fears, but we will make it works.

Everythink will gonna works like now <- the only think what is change is link to boinc project.
Because Monkeys will be the first series of apps on GCC I will even try to move credits/badges from GG@H to GCC in simple way.

Give us a chance to make his BIG change.

I believe you can do it as it has been done before.

Check with Travis over at Community Science Grid, as this is what he did with 3 projects and made them sub-projects of Community Science Grid and was able to transfer credits and badges across as well.

If you can move everything to the new setup and we retain all our credits, then I will be fine with the change.

If everyone has to start over, then probably not a good thing.

Good luck with all the server work! :-)

Not to mention the various LHC consolidation(s)

My problem, and of course I might be the only one, is that all the WUProp hours I've built up under the goofyxgridathome project will freeze and I'll have to start again from zero with the GCC project. Sure I get to add 4 "new" apps but i'm just 3 weeks away from getting 25,000 hours on v3 and v4.

Speaking of v2 and v4: can we have them back please?

Yes, I was wondering about this too; will there be any more v4 work before the transition? I am 1 day short from reaching the 25,000 hours star on WUProp.

OK so I'm not the only one!

BTW, v3 is now dead too.

I like the way PrimeGrid sticks to 30 day notices of obsolescence. You can get a lot done in 30 days. Maybe we can get 30 days of full blown Monkeys before the transition?

If moving things is possible then on the our end it would just be a site change in BOINC.

Will this allow deploying CPU apps under the same sub-project or would the CPU app be a different sub-project?

Firstly yes, Goofyx will move project to GCC (http://gridcomputingcenter.org/).
Secondary - yes, it is still BOINC :)

About Enigma@Home - I know from his admin that he is make some serious changes to daemons in project which is reason for this pause in work unit generation.

So far he not very communicative about it. There's only mentioning of server maintenance on the 18th.
