Badges and Android
\r\n\r\nFirst, support for ALL the regular platforns: Win and Linux (32 and 64), OSX, Android (PIE and non-PIE). Bonus for Raspberry Pi support.\r\n\r\nThen badges. Don't use the crummy RAC badges that BOINC provides. No-one cares about those at all. Do have a different badge for the three apps if you can although some might say there's no choice between them because they're all NCI.\r\n\r\nOnce a month give 10x credit for the day. Pick the day at random so its not always the second Tuesday. That will get people talking and visiting.\r\n\r\nBuild a list of what's been found. Include it somehow in the stats.\r\n\r\nFinally some creative way to run a challenge that isnt just based on setting 'em and letting 'em run. PrimeGrid offers badges just for their Tour de Primes challenge. \r\n\r\nBut above all, no dead periods and keep up the responses on the forum. That's the #1 and #2 reasons why a project falters.

Steve Hawker is right : more support (especially ARM, as the project is NCI it could run on many devices like phone, tablet, raspberry, etc...), and badges. Everybody love badges ! :D

Agree, ARM apps should be done as soon as possible, since the tasks are NCI, that means even phones can run it without draining the battery like CPU Intensive tasks do, so it can be left running unattended there. I myself have 2 Android Phones and a tablet that I really wish I could run this project into them.

\r\nThat point fulfilled <- i think so ;)\r\n\r\nNow start working on badges <- after it challenge.\r\nAnd of course as many compilation for diffrent platform as possible.\r\n\r\nStep by step ;)

If you are needing more horse power, have you considered running more than one of each app at a time? FreeHAL did this for a bit. You could even add a setting on the server so that people could adjust how many to run at a time per system. For example, if you allowed 5 of each app, you could effectively get up to 5 times as many results with the same number of systems. Granted some people will want to control the number of apps as to not over burden their RAM limits and such, but it would be an option for the project to consider. I have a few systems with a crap ton more RAM than they can typically use on a daily basis. By running more of these work units, you would get more results and my system could handle the extra load...

\r\n\r\nOH NO - not again!\r\n\r\nit should be pretty easy to change V2 to no-nci and aquire a lot of throughput.

I would prefer having several NCI apps running rather than have a non-NCI app running. We could have both options available so we can choose what suits better.

\r\ni will think abount making monkeys_v2 and monkeys_v3 as cpu.\r\nDoing monkeys_v1 as cpu have no sense.

\r\n\r\nThat's great but will you give us the option for v2 to continue using it as NCI as it is right now?

\r\n\r\n Wouldn't mind seeing all three as NCI, or at least an option.

nci and non-nci with the same app not only sounds pretty silly, it is another thing that will not work right out of the box because this is nothing that boinc was designed for.

\r\n\r\nSo far NCI apps are working great with BOINC for me so having an option to use NCI or Non-NCI will be nice. I can understand if v3 will be Non-NCI but for v2 which is already NCI if this app becomes Non-NCI it could be great to be able to select what version of this app we want to use.

There are multiple things that motivate BOINC crunchers. 2 of the newer ones are badges and chasing "stars/hours" on WuProp. \r\n\r\nI would suggest getting the V2 app onto full CPU as soon as possible if you want to increase the computing power on the project. The machine I'm posting this with has 24 3.5G threads but the project is only using a tiny fraction of that capability. \r\n\r\nIf you pay good credits for a completed CPU WU (not using BOINC's credit new) that will also attract more crunchers.

I think the most attractive part about the project for most of the people attaching is the fact it is NCI. That is the primary reason I run it as it doesn't interfere much with other work. So, whether you gain more resources from going CPU intensive will probably depend on what other options people have at that time.
